Local DJ, ‘DJ ROB’, Expresses Frustration About The Future of BCS Music Events

Robert Mwandia, also known as DJ ROB, has been a prominent figure in the BCS live music scene.

Having a huge background in live music events, DJing all over the country, with big music acts such as Lil Wayne, DJ Pauly D, and Paul Wall, DJ ROB has been growing his career, as well as bringing that growth here to Bryan-College Station!

With a great passion to continue building the BCS music scene, one of his biggest aspirations is to help put together a “BCS Fest”, a festival that only consists of local vendors and local artists coming together to put on an annual gathering event here in BCS.

Recently, DJ ROB expresses his frustrations about how challenging it has been to put a BCS Festival together, as well as pointing out local organizations that appear to be discarding his efforts and taking credit for his initial idea.

DJ ROB posted to his Facebook,

“Now let me make this CLEAR I don’t care who does it first because there have been several festivals in the area. My issue is inclusion!! It is not new that my intention is to continue to enrich the BCS with live music but more so to host an annual festival that will reflect the demographic of our community and also drive tourism.”

We have reached out to DJ ROB for a statement and this is his response,

“The biggest thing I want to get across is that to put on a great community event it should reflect the community. We have the infrastructure and talent to host a great show but need to cultivate this talent and nature it. My goal is not profit but longevity”

We wish all the best luck to our friend Robert here at Visionary Media, and we will continue to support him and his vision for the BCS music scene.
